World Bank, Peace Corps, United Nations: Work Group strengthens international connections

Three prominent international groups recently partnered with the KU Work Group for Community Health and Development.

Christina Holt, associate director for Community Tool Box Services, travelled to Washington, D.C. in January to present “Organizing for Change: Practical Tools for Community Leaders” at the World Bank corporate headquarters. She said the World Bank is considering using Tool Box resources for training staff and in-country partners.

The Peace Corps also is using Community Tool Box materials for training Peace Corps staff and volunteers and in-country partners. A revised training program using Community Tool Box materials will be piloted in Zambia in May. Work Group staff have been invited to participate.

The Work Group was recently named a member of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, a global initiative for the United Nations headquartered in Paris, which will facilitate collaboration on research, joint initiatives and policy issues.
