Biography

As a translational research scientist, Tera Fazzino’s overarching goal is to identify mechanisms contributing to health risk as informed by both clinical and experimental methods. Her work is at the intersection of addiction and obesity, and she is interested in common reinforcement processes that may contribute to both health problems. Dr. Fazzino uses mobile photography-based assessment methods to measure alcohol use and eating behavior in real-time, in participants' own environments.

Dr. Fazzino recently wrote an article for The Conversation, a news site that facilitates academics in translating their research to the public: Why it can be hard to stop eating even when you’re full: Some foods may be designed that way.
