KU RITE will prepare a cadre of five scholars at the doctoral level who are well prepared in evidenced-based practices and strategies to support students with intensive academic, behavior, and social needs within tiered systems of support. KU RITE scholars will develop knowledge and skills necessary to serve as recognized leaders with expertise in school-based inquiry to improve outcomes for students with and at risk for disabilities. At the end of the 5-year program, scholars will earn a Ph.D. in Special Education and will be prepared for the critical competencies of higher education research, teaching, and service.
