Investigating Output Modality for a Brain-Computer Interface for Communication
The goal of the project is to enable brain-computer interface control of a 2-D format synthesizer for continuous, instantaneous audio-visual output. The project will help determine the importance of audio vs. visual feedback and the added benefit of their combination. It is believed that subjects receiving auditory feedback will learn control of the vowel synthesis brain-computer interface more quickly, and to a greater degree than subjects without auditory feedback.
