National meeting for partners
The Schoolwide Integrated Framework for Transformation (SWIFT) Center held a professional learning institute for school partners July 21-22 in Arlington, Va.
Keynote speaker for the national conference was Atasha James, principal of an elementary school in the District of Columbia that, under her leadership, saw improved student achievement in math and reading for three consecutive years.
Also speaking was Daniel Habib, an American documentary filmmaker at the Institute on Disability, University of New Hampshire. He is a member of the President’s Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities.
Sessions included presentations from educators and administrators from SWIFT partner states, districts and schools across the nation as well as researchers.
