Reducing the incidence of obesity in adults with developmental disabilities in Kansas

This is a current project.

Description

This project is evaluating the effectiveness of a proven approach to weight loss, referred to as meal replacement, with adults with developmental disabilities (DD). The incidence of obesity is higher among people with DD than in the population as a whole. The goal is to lower the body mass index of participants by at least one full point and to develop a diet protocol for service providers in Community Developmental Disability Organizations (CDDOs) in Kansas.
