Translating effective maltreatment intervention into the community

This is a current project.

Description

This project seeks to develop and test the translatability of an evidence-based parenting intervention into a community-based program aimed at reducing child maltreatment. Specifically, the project will translate the Play and Learning Strategies program (PALS), an evidence-based program that increases responsive parenting and promotes healthy infant social and emotional development. The project will use a previously developed internet-based delivery system to facilitate connections between parents and trained PALS coaches. This project will adapt existing training and coaching materials to better reflect a community home visitor-program consultant support relationship and integrate a Spanish translation of the PALS program onto the computer-delivery platform.
