Using MTSS for Intervention Decision Making to Improve Child Language Outcome

Using MTSS for Intervention Decision Making to Improve Child Language Outcome

The purpose of this collaborative project is to support the scale-up of Pennsylvania's Early Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) in infant-toddler programs across the state. The project will employ two effective and widely implemented models that have been applied in infant-toddler programs. This project will document the feasibility and impact of using progress monitoring measurement (Early Communication Indicator; ECI) and evidence-based language strategies (Promoting Communication Tools for Accelerating Language in Kids; PC TALK) aimed at building parents and/or teachers' capacity to incorporate naturalistic language strategies into daily home and/or center-based classroom routines within a statewide MTSS focused model to support children's language development and support systemic program improvement and scale-up efforts.
