Education Training with Fire Fighters and the Deaf Community

The Education Training with Fire Fighters and the Deaf Community is a smoke alarm campaign to create a permanent statewide education and referral network based in the deaf or hard of hearing community. The project will result in:

180 Kansans who are deaf/hard of hearing will receive in-home fire safety and escape planning and smoke alarm installation

Ongoing statewide network embedded in deaf/hard of hearing member organizations who will prioritize educating their members about fire safety and prevention

Accessible educational materials, deaf culture training guides, accessible videos on ATK website and YouTube channel, bi-monthly electronic updates and text banks distributed to network partners and updated for ongoing distribution after the project
