Early Childhood Maltreatment and Treatment Outcomes

Early Child Maltreatment and Treatment Outcomes

Exposure to maltreatment poses tremendous mental health risks for children and especially for those maltreated children placed in foster care. This project will address how children exposed to maltreatment and who are in foster care can adjust positively. Researchers will study the role of resources, context and major life events in predicting how some children adapt better than others. The ultimate goal is to identify what factors can make a child more resilient.
