Lindeman Confers with Feds in Early Childhood Programs

Karen Salisbury Henry

David Lindeman, director of LSI at Parsons and the KU Center on Developmental Disabilities, Parsons site, was one of six Kansas early education leaders who met with senior officials from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Education on Sept. 14 in Kansas City, Mo. The first stop in a 10-city bus tour by education secretary Arne Duncan, the Kansas City meeting came on the heels of new federal recommendations for increasing the number of children with disabilities in public and private early childhood programs nationwide.

Each member of the Kansas team represented a group of stakeholders in the field of early childhood. Lindeman was the only representative from a university-affiliated research institute.
