Kansas adopts accessible parking guide

Karen Salisbury Henry

The Kansas Commission on Disability Concerns (KCDC) has endorsed a brochure on etiquette for using accessible parking spaces written by Glen White, director of the Research and Training Center on Independent Living, and graduate research assistants E (Alice) Zhang and Kelsey Shinnick. The Department of Revenue’s Division of Vehicles plans to distribute the brochure to people who receive accessible parking placards and licenses and include some of the information in its driver’s license test manuals. The endorsement follows a presentation by White, Zhang and Shinnick at a KCDC meeting last fall.
